In this capacity, he provides strategic and technical oversight to 23 Area Programs nationwide driving quality, innovation, and systems strengthening in child protection programming. His work is deeply rooted in rights-based approaches and the meaningful participation of children, adolescents, and youth, with a consistent focus on fostering active citizenship and civic empowerment. Simione’s earlier career includes spearheading Child Protection initiatives at Plan International Mozambique (2015–2017), and leading critical emergency responses in Gaza, Zambézia, and Tete provinces, particularly during the El Niño droughts and in conflict-affected settings. Between 2012 and 2014, he managed CPiE (Child Protection in Emergencies) interventions in Gaza Province, addressing the needs of vulnerable children in crisis. In 2018, he was appointed Safeguarding Focal Point for World Vision’s national office, where he played a central role in localizing and operationalizing safeguarding policies and protocols. With six years of experience implementing the Citizen Voice and Action (CVA) methodology, he has championed community-led social accountability and sustainability, aligning local advocacy with broader protection goals. Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Human Rights and Criminal Justice at Lenchester University, Simione brings to the global arena a rare combination of academic depth, operational excellence, and ethical commitment.
