The management area is composed of 99 vale employees and 118 contractor’s employees, managing an operational yearly budget of about 51 Millions USD, excluding on this previous amount the sustaining projects budget. Focused on Health, Safety and Environment of the team

The department was comprised of the following sub-areas and its roles:

1. Substations, Transmission and Electrical net work Supervision;

1.1.Main Duties on this supervision:

o Electrical power management for whole mine and external facilities (condominium, remote substations;

o 220kV e 66kV Power transmission of about 50km long and site wide distribution with 22kV ;

o 15MW Diesel Power generation plant for emergency situation, the plant was comprised of 13 group generators, Fueling skid and tap up transformers 0.4 to 22kV;

o Buildings, roads and industrial lighting and lightening site wide;

o Utility power distribution and maintenance;

o Operations and Maintenance of 58 Substations

2. Utilities and Process water catchment and treatment for fire fighting and drinking supervision;

3. Diesel Management and Storage for the mine and logistic supervisions;

• Developed and implemented performance improvement strategies and plans to promote continuous improvement.
• Eliminated downtime and maximized revenue by providing top project quality control.
• Continuous and Actively interaction to customers, handling concerns quickly and escalated major issues to the high management team.
• Completed on time the audit action plan to ensure compliance with relevant company and state regulations (policies, ISO}.

The team was responsible for whole mine maintenance and operation of the electrical system and management of the electric contract and billing with the utility supplier (Electricidade de mocambique - EDM);

• Resolved problems, improved operations and provided exceptional service to avoid the power outage and unwanted interruptions;
• Carried out day-day-day duties accurately and efficiently;
• Demonstrated respect, friendliness and willingness to help wherever needed, improving the personnel relationship;

· High voltage operations (switching) on 220KV AC/DC conversion groups (rectifiers) supplying the electrolyzing plant.

Responsible by operations at main control room, interconnecting the power plant generators, rectifier plant and HV distribution for the rest of plant consumers.

Maintenance on power and distribution transformers plant wide.

Maintenance on filter banks and all control supply system, such as: Battery and battery chargers, UPS, Voltage and Current transformers.

Participated on the commissioning and energization of the first phase of the plant.

• Used coordination and planning skills to achieve results according to schedule.
• Prepared a variety of different written communications, reports and documents to ensure smooth operations.

WORKING AS SUBSTATION MAINTAINER

-Accredited to work / switching from lowest up to highest voltage (400v up to 132kv A Class)

After hours technician on duty(standby) for plant wide call out.

Maintenance on plant wide equipment (Power transformers, Main Distribution Board, Motor Control Centers and HVDC group rectifies).

-Trained on plant maintenance Alusap and as maintenance controller second

-Trained on Aluminum smelter working procedures and business excellence practice (six sigma);

- Use of Root Cause Analyses for problem solving;

- Worked as a training officer for Isolation, Lock out and work permit procedure;

Trained by Trade Management Africa (T.M.A.) on general workshops maintenance & breakdown solving:

- General mechanics and Welding;

- Maintenance on electrical equipment and fault finding;

- Instrumentation & Basic Instructions on PLC;

• Worked flexible hours; night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

• Mentored and guided employees to foster proper completion of assigned duties.
• Worked as plant wide Maintenance Senior Technician and team leader in diversified environment and equipment (electrical, electro & hydro mechanical instruments).

Worked on transmission substation dealing with HVDC and HVAC up to 400KV

Inspected the power generation plant rehabilitation process from beginning until the first group generator full commissioning and hand back to production;

• Worked as electrical technician, llx';;;mworking at in general workshops maintenance from lower to medium levels position dealing with various kind of equipment (DC/AC), like:

- Diesel Electric locomotives maintenance;

- Performance load and off load test on locomotives;

• Interpreted electric and electronic schematics and mechanical layouts to diagnose equipment problems.
• Worked with instrumentation and control system on locomotive (hydro-pneumatic system).
• Performed maintenance on electromotriz force (Generators and electric traction motors)

• Obtained measurements and readings using volt and ohm meters, meggers, IC testers and dial indicators.
