Padil Salimo possesses extensive expertise in governance and institutional reforms, digital transformation, political economy analysis, natural resource management, sustainable development, decentralization and capacity building. His professional experience of more than 20 years spans from academia to public sector and civil society. He holds extensive working experience with international development agencies including the World Bank, USAID and EU funded projects, and international NGOs. He is an Assistant Professor at Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo, and Executive Director of MAP Consulting. Padil holds a joint Ph.D. in social science, major on natural resource governance in Africa (oil and gas), from the University of Roskilde (Denmark) and the University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania). He obtained a Master's degree in Social Policy and Sustainable Development from the University of Bologna (Italy) and completed Master's coursework in Governance and Public Administration at University of Eduardo Mondlane (Mozambique). He is currently DBA fellow in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from Walsh College in USA. Padil is well equipped with robust knowledge of the country's political and socioeconomic context as solid understanding of the paths toward digital transformation and challenges, as he has been engaged at the higher level of coordinating the designing of the country's terms of reference for digital transformation strategy as well as, conducting the designing of the digital inclusion multisectoral plan. Apart from his extensive professional experience, Padil is a senior consultant, highly qualified, with almost two decades of consistent track-record of engagement in hundreds of consultancy service to governments, development partners, including the World Bank, UNICEF, UNDP, ILO, UNHCRI, AfDB, European Union, FCDO, GIZ, Norad, Sida, various national and international NGOs, and private companies like Sasol and Shel, either within the country and in the southern Africa region.
