I am Agronomist, working as researcher at Mozambique Agricultural Research Institute for more than 20 years. Along this time, I have been working for cotton research at Cotton Research and Seed Multiplication Center (IIAM/CIMSAN) in Namialo, Nampula Province, where I undertake research activities.
CIMSAN, one of the research centers of IIAM, is located in Nampula Province, the North of the country, region that supplies over 70% of the total cotton production in the country. During the mentioned years, I have been working actively on cotton research, conducting several research activities, addressing issues related to plant breeding (development and evaluation of new genotypes/varieties), integrated pest management strategies (crop resistance to sucking insects), agronomic practices mainly suitable to the small scale farmers, which represents about 90 % of cotton growers, for development of new and resilient technologies for sustainable Agricultural. I've been actively involved on farmers/extension workers capacity building and cotton research program development.

I am leading National Cotton Research Program, which involves 5 researchers and 36 workers.
