I have 23 years of experience in the IT industry with 20 of those years spend within World Vision. What has kept it fresh and relevant for me in World Vision has been the opportunities for lateral and vertical movement, and growth into different IT roles over the years.

  • Own and manage IT Change and IT Knowledge Management processes.
  • Review and validate that Service Transition aspects are catered for in the Service Design Package and ensuring Change Advisory Board reviews and exercises due diligence before moving Changes or Projects to production

Accomplishments

Some of the accomplishments include:

  • Pioneered & Established the IT Infrastructure & department at the University of Zimbabwe - Bindura College of Technology
  • Established and Matured the WorldVision Zimbabwe and Mozambique IT Departments. This included hiring, training and managing the IT team, running various Infrastructure Projects, Playing a Strategic role, as part of the NO Senior Management teams
  • Delivered Projects within the Southern African Region, some of which included the VSAT rollout project, NO & Regional Office relocation & Co-location, ICT4D projects, ITMS Assessments and follow through Projects (People, Process & Technology), etc
  • Developed an ITMS Assessment tool widely used to assess the maturity of IT within World Vision Offices
  • Implemented Enterprise IT processes within WorldVision, establishing and maturing two of the process, namely the IT Change and Knowledge Management processes
  • Worked closely with external consultants from Hackett and Info-tech during the period when I worked on World Vision IT processes, helping me get a better understanding of how to structure and manage Consultant engagements, for optimal value to the organization.
